Fans in the U.K. and Ireland will be able to watch the next Avengers film two days before its scheduled release in the United States.
Avengers: Doomsday Releasing Early
As shared by Complex on X, fans in the U.K. and Ireland can watch Avengers: Doomsday in theaters starting December 16, two days earlier than the U.S. release date of December 18, 2026.
The difference means spoilers could begin circulating before many U.S. fans have an opportunity to see the film. However, an earlier international release is not unusual for Marvel Studios. All prior Avengers films and other Marvel Studios releases like Spider-Man: Brand New Day have all seen slightly earlier debuts compared to the U.S. release.
Studios adjust release dates by market to account for a variety of reasons, including school breaks, public holidays, and competing releases. Major films are now generally released within a narrow global window so studios can concentrate their marketing campaigns while reducing the risks of piracy impacting box office revenue in certain markets.
In this case, the Wednesday opening also gives Doomsday a two-day head start in the U.K. before Dune: Part Three opens there on December 18.
Regardless of the release window, Avengers: Doomsday is already reaching movie milestones, as it crossed $40 million in domestic pre-sales 100 days before its theater release, with Disney confirming a few days later that the movie actually passed $50 million in pre-sales.

Anthony and Joe Russo, who previously directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame, return to direct. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is among the film’s producers. A special look at the film was shown at D23 last month.
In anticipation of the film’s release, Marvel has an official ‘Countdown to Avengers: Doomsday’ podcast on Disney+, co-hosted by Ms. Marvel herself.
The runtime for Avengers: Doomsday is 165 minutes (2 hours and 45 minutes).
Avengers: Doomsday releases in theaters on December 18, 2026, and will be available to watch in Infinity Vision, a premium large format theater certification. The movie will be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars, currently scheduled for December 17, 2027.
