Blue Bayou Restaurant Evacuated Twice Last Night at Disneyland

Blue Bayou Restaurant at Disneyland Park was evacuated twice last night, according to social media posts.

New Orleans Square Evacuation

Outdoor patio at night with string lights and lanterns—perfect for a daily recap or quiet meal under a large tree.

Guests posting on Instagram on the evening of Saturday, September 12, indicated the lights on Pirates of the Caribbean came on, and the fire alarm sounded at about 6:14 p.m. Boats continued through the attraction with the lights on, but Audio-Animatronics and effects were paused as the alarm continued blaring.

Blue Bayou, the restaurant that overlooks the beginning of Pirates of the Caribbean, was evacuated.

The same thing happened again at 7:55 p.m. Commenter @russjones747, who was dining at Blue Bayou at the time, said the restaurant was cleared 15 minutes later, and guests were allowed to return to their meals.

Another commenter said the nearby Tiana’s Palace, Cafe Orleans, and 21 Royal were also evacuated at 7:55 p.m. The buildings of New Orleans Square are all connected, so if there is a potential fire in one location, they all have to evacuate.

The alarms were likely set off due to smoke or fire in one of the restaurant kitchens. It’s unclear if there was a real fire at any point. The restaurants and ride appeared to be operating normally on Sunday.
