Carla Jeffery, known to Disney Channel audiences for portraying Bree in the first three Zombies films, has died. She was 33.

Carla Jeffery, known to Disney Channel audiences for portraying Bree in the first three Zombies films, has died. She was 33.

Jeffery died on Tuesday, September 1, according to a statement shared by her manager, Carla Alexander of Alexanders Talent Management. A cause of death has not been disclosed.

“As Bree in Disney’s hit ZOMBIES franchise, Carla shared her joy, humor, and bright spirit with audiences around the world,” the agency wrote, adding that Jeffery was “more than a client; she was family.”

The statement concluded by requesting privacy for Jeffery’s family and loved ones as they mourn her loss. The full statement as shared on social media is available below:

Carla Jeffery, known to Disney Channel audiences for portraying Bree in the first three Zombies films, has died. She was 33.

Jeffery originated the role of Bree, Addison’s best friend and a cheerleader at Seabrook High, in the 2018 Disney Channel Original Movie Zombies. She reprised the role in Zombies 2 in 2020 and Zombies 3 in 2022. She later voiced Bree in the animated spinoff Zombies: The Re-Animated Series.

Several of Jeffery’s former costars shared tributes following the announcement. Milo Manheim, who portrays Zed in the franchise, remembered her as “the sweetest person I have ever met.” Trevor Tordjman wrote that he would never forget her energy and spirit, while Chandler Kinney described Jeffery as a shining light and a beautiful soul.

Born in Houston, Texas, Jeffery began acting at age 12, portraying a younger version of Mo’Nique’s character in the 2006 film Phat Girlz. She later appeared as Keysha across several episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Her other Disney Channel credits included appearances in Good Luck Charlie, Shake It Up!, and Best Friends Whenever. Jeffery also appeared across other television series including Southland, iCarly, Suburgatory, Scream Queens, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and American Vandal.

Jeffery’s final live-action performance was in Zombies 3. She did not reprise Bree in Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires, though she attended the film’s 2025 premiere to support the cast. Her final credited performance was in a 2025 episode of the audio drama Asanté.
