Disney World is working on quite a few construction projects these days!
Magic Kingdom
We’ve got big lands coming soon like Tropical Americas and Monstropolis, but there are also several smaller projects that are in progress. And recently, Disney has filed some new permits for upcoming construction. Let’s see what’s on the horizon!
Tomorrowland Terrace
The first permit on the list was filed for the location of Tomorrowland Terrace in Magic Kingdom. This restaurant has technically been closed for several years now, though it is used nightly for the fireworks dessert parties. The permit’s description notes that there will be “general construction.”

Disney hasn’t shared any information about construction changes that could come to this space currently, but the registers, kitchen, and seating all remain in the space from when it was an operating restaurant. The contractor for the project is WDW Buena Vista Construction.
McKim’s Mile House
Not too long ago, a new Disney Vacation Club lounge was added to Frontierland in Magic Kingdom. McKim’s Mile House is located in the former home of the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade, and a permit was recently filed for some electrical work to be done in the space. The permit says that the project will be taken on by the Buena Vista Construction Company.

This is likely a more basic update, since the space is still so new. We’ll be on the lookout for any construction-related closures of McKim’s Mile House, just in case.
Frozen Ever After
We were also a little surprised to see a construction permit filed for Frozen Ever After in EPCOT. This ride recently had a major update where the animatronics were replaced with newer models, sans facial projections. But now, it looks like there will be construction in the building again.

The description of the project is that Buena Vista Construction Company will provide labor and materials for electrical work in the space. Like the McKim’s Mile House project, this could be a routine update. We’ll let you know if the ride plans to close again, but at this point, a closure has not been announced.
Adventureland
Finally, the last permit we saw was a notice of commencement for general construction in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom. This one seems as though it could be a larger project, considering it has a two-year expiration date in August of 2028. The project will be taken on by MLC Theming Inc.
Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland
The address on the permit matches up with the Adventureland popcorn cart area between Jungle Cruise and Magic Carpets of Aladdin. It doesn’t necessarily mean the popcorn cart will be the focus — there’s also a splash pad in that area and a staircase that goes down to Jungle Cruise (that isn’t in use). We’ll be interested to see what changes because opening up that space could improve the flow of traffic significantly.
