Gameloft has revealed a closer look at Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Keepsake Sea, featuring Captain Jack Sparrow, Megara, Milo Thatch, and a new ability that transforms players into customizable Merfolk.
Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Keepsake Sea Expansion
We first received the announcement of this expansion during the “Your Dream, Your Valley: Disney Dreamlight Valley” panel at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. During the panel, members of the Disney Dreamlight Valley development team reflected on the game’s history before previewing content planned for later in 2026.
The initial teaser showed a player character swimming through an underwater environment before a shadow of Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean appeared at the trailer’s end. Gameloft did not announce a release window at the time.
A new trailer presented during the latest Nintendo Direct—a showcase of various game announcements, developments, and other product updates from Nintendo—offered a more extensive look at the paid expansion. (Dreamlight Valley content shown around 49:15)
In addition to Jack Sparrow, the footage revealed Megara from Disney’s Hercules and Milo Thatch from Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
Players will take on a new form as magical Merfolk as they journey across the sea toward a distant kingdom haunted by echoes of its past. The expansion will introduce multiple new biomes, mysterious underwater areas, and additional spaces that players can customize. The trailer also previews the Merfolk transformation system, including several options for personalizing a player’s underwater appearance.
A separate announcement trailer of the newest expansion was shared later in the day, featuring another look at the new characters and more ways players can explore the new ocean realm through their mermaid characters in the game.
Fans will soon be able to experience the new Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Keepsake Sea adventure this November.
