A floral display featuring Disney characters from Coco and Encanto has been added to Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort.
Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month Flower Display
One of the displays we spotted on Wednesday, September 16, was a vibrant silleta, which is a Colombian floral arrangement, features a wide range of colors, including white, purple, yellow, pink, and red.
Various types of flowers surround the silleta, with the tree behind it decorated with lights and colorful marigold garland.
On the other side of the silleta, a floral sculpture of Isabela Madrigal from Encanto wearing a purple floral dress stands in the middle of a flower bed. See the photo above.
Near these sculptures is a yellow and purple sign, seen above, that discusses Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month and more information on the installation and the silleta.
The silleta (see-yeh-tajs) honors the Disneyland Resort Belonging Employee Resource Group. It symbolizes a vibrant environment where culture, community, and connection flourish. Rooted in Heritage, we celebrate the richness of our roots and the pride we carry in our diverse cultures. Guided by Optimism, we look toward a bright future—one shaped by the dreams and resilience of those who came before us. Through Legacy, we honor the trailblazers who opened doors and those who continue to break barriers for future generations. And with Allyship, we foster the space of belonging—where everyone is seen, supported, and empowered.
Meanwhile, references to Coco are also seen in another display. The photo on the left below depicts Miguel in a mariachi suit, with a large red hat. The figure is smiling while also playing Ernesto de la Cruz’s white guitar.
The photo on the right features a brown guitar sculpture surrounded by yellow marigolds and other flowers.
These displays can be seen near Sephora, Wetzel’s Pretzels, and Ballast Point Brewery & Kitchen in the Downtown Disney District.
Disneyland Resort is currently celebrating Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month with various activities, including character meet-and-greets, dining, and entertainment. The event is occurring now through October 15.
