Fake Logs and Tree Stump Painted in Echo Lake at Disney's Hollywood Studios as Area Refurbishment Continues

The fake logs, along with a tree stump, located in Echo Lake, have been painted. The lake at Disney’s Hollywood Studios was drained last month for a refurbishment of its props and Dockside Diner.

Since our last update earlier this week, only two of the tree stumps were painted. When we stopped by the area on Friday, September 25, the rest of the stumps, as well as the logs, received a fresh coating of dark brown paint. The trees also help mask some of the lake’s underwater plumbing. When the lake is full, these logs and stumps will stick out of the water.

The picture shown below is what the unpainted logs and stumps looked like just a few days ago:

Echo Lake Refurbishment

Disney has not announced a timeline for the Echo Lake refurbishment. The lake is surrounded by Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, Hollywood & Vine, 50’s Prime Time Cafe, and For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-along Celebration.

Dockside Diner, a quick-service kiosk shaped like a vintage steamer, sits in the water, as well as Gertie, the life-size green dinosaur, which is home to  Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction.
