In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Seth Rogen commented on the status of his Figment movie for the first time since 2022.

The movie was announced that year, with Seth Rogen’s Point Grey Pictures producting and Pokémon Detective Pikachu‘s Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit attached as writers.

Entertainment Weekly asked where development stands on the production. Rogen hesitated to answer before saying, “Let me get back to you on that.”

The interviewer began to ask, “What can you tease about the version of Figment that you guys…?” But Rogen quickly shook his head and said, “I can’t tell anything.”

Though Rogen’s comments don’t provide any real updates, the fact that he can’t say anything would indicate he’s still working on the film and doesn’t want to spill any secrets.

In 2025, Disney’s then-CEO Bob Iger said he would ask Disney’s creative teams to make a Figment series or short term videos, strangely not addressing the Figment film, suggesting it was canceled or on hold.

Last year, Rogen produced and appeared in a reboot special of The Muppet Show.

Figment the purple dragon was first introduced as part of the Journey Into Imagination ride at EPCOT in 1983, alongside his creator, Dreamfinder. The ride saw significant changes over the years and no longer features Dreamfinder — but Disney recently indicated Dreamfinder would return.

Disney added a Figment meet and greet in 2023. That same year, Figment visited Walt Disney Studios and Walt Disney Imagineering.
