All entrances to the Walt Disney World Railroad at Magic Kingdom are officially blocked as the attraction undergoes a multi-week refurbishment. The last set of stairs that was open earlier this week is now roped off.

Walt Disney World Railroad Entrances Now Closed

In our last update on Monday, September 28, only one entrance to the Walt Disney World Railroad was still open. It was available for guests to access the new collectible medallions machine on the second floor of the station.

Earlier today (September 30), when we passed by the area, a white rope was blocking off the entrance. The white sign that says “Sorry folks! The Walt Disney World Railroad is not currently operating” is still present.

Refurbishment Details

The Walt Disney World website states the railroad will reopen in November 2026, although it has operating hours listed beginning October 30.

After it reopens, it will continue operating in shuttle mode, which means it only goes back and forth between Main Street, U.S.A. and Storybook Circus. The Frontierland station is closed due to construction of Piston Peak National Park and Disney Villains Land.
