Inside the Once Upon a Studio Theater, Disney’s Hollywood Studios guests will be able to enjoy the Emmy Award-winning short film Once Upon a Studio honoring 100 years of The Walt Disney Company. The theater is part of The Magic of Disney Animation, which officially opens on September 14.

The theater is to the left upon entering The Magic of Disney Animation.
The enchanted art gallery outside the theater includes portraits that come to life through all-new animations.
The Once Upon A Studio Theater features enhanced effects.
The entrance features logos from dozens of animated films, like Zootopia, Wreck-It Ralph, Dumbo, Beauty and the Beast, Hercules, Sleeping Beauty, Frozen, Atlantis, and more.
Above the doors is a blue and gold Once Upon a Studio banner with a filigree design. Tinker Bell hovers with her wand above on one end.
A digital screen next to the door shows what is currently playing in the theater. During our media preview, we participated in a panel, but Once Upon a Studio will be played here when the space officially opens.
The carpet consists of a swirl pattern that creates an allover Mickey icon print.
Inside the theater, a large screen is in the center of the wall with blue drapes behind it.
The dark blue carpet has light(er) blue character artwork. We spotted Ralph near our seat.
Once Upon a Studio
The 2023 live-action and animated short film was written and directed by Dan Abraham and Trent Correy. Set inside the Roy E. Disney Animation Building, it features Disney characters coming to life after animators have left. Disney Legend Burny Mattinson appears at the start of the film, which is dedicated to him. Disney’s longest-serving employee, Mattinson passed away a few months before the film’s release.
Once Upon a Studio also includes Robin Williams’ Lost Boy character from the original version of The Magic of Disney Animation at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
