Employees of Universal Studios Hollywood recently protested at CityWalk, demanding livable wages and benefits in their contracts as negotiations are reportedly being stalled.

Many International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States, Its Territories and Canada (IATSE) Local B-192 union employees gathered for a rally at CityWalk and said in unison, “No contract, no peace,” and “Strike,” in a video shared by @subtumble on Instagram.

They were also holding a sign reading: “No more poverty wages. Universal workers deserve better,” with different Universal characters on it, including Mario and a minion.

According to their website, the B-192 union represents “the majority of the non-management employees at Universal Studios Hollywood, the Retail Employees at Universal-owned CityWalk venues, the Ushers at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre, and the Tour Guides at the Dolby Theatre.”

The union gave more information on why they’re on strike on their Facebook page.

“After almost a year of bargaining, it is clear that Universal refuses to make much progress toward meeting our proposals for fair wages and benefits. Universal is still holding onto their proposals for net-of-inflation pay cuts even after their theme parks made $2.4 BILLION last quarter and as their workers continue to sleep in their cars.“
