As part of Disney’s ongoing “Fuel the Magic” campaign with Formula 1, Lightning McQueen from Cars is appearing at the Formula 1 Gran Premio d’Italia 2026 in Monza. They also revealed the first-ever Cars x Formula 1 collection.
Lightning McQueen at Gran Premio d’Italia
Ahead of Lightning McQueen Day on September 5, everyone’s favorite Piston Cup champion has arrived at the Formula 1 Gran Premio d’Italia 2026, taking place September 4-6 in Monza, after receiving a special invitation from longtime rival Francesco Bernoulli. Serving as the race weekend’s official support vehicle, Lightning McQueen is bringing even more Pixar magic to one of motorsport’s most iconic destinations.
Lightning McQueen will debut an all-new look inspired by the Disney x Formula 1 collaboration as fans from around the world gather for one of the most legendary weekends on the racing calendar.
Attendees will also have the chance to shop the new Disney and Pixar’s Cars Collection with Formula 1. Select items will also be available online at Disney Store and the Formula 1 Official Online Store.
Plus, a special Cars-inspired makeover of the Mercedes-AMG Official FIA Safety Car will debut exclusively for race weekend, making it a must-see for fans of both Cars and Formula 1.
Guests will also find Cars-inspired experiences throughout the fan zone, including a Mattel activation bringing the world of Radiator Springs to life for fans. A special screening of Disney and Pixar’s Cars will take place during race weekend as part of the film’s 20th anniversary celebration.
