Lilypad, the antagonist from Toy Story 5, has taken over Alien Swirling Saucers inside Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios! Lilypad is the new “DJ” for the spinning attraction adding an all new-soundtrack. The 10 new songs draw inspiration from a wide range of music, including pop, country, alt-rock, and EDM. The songs contribute more fun and variety to Alien Swirling Saucers, and my four-year-old was thrilled to recognize each song while waiting in line.
The new songs include –
- “You’ve Got a Friend in Me”
- “Spin It Back, Lilypad”
- “Partysaurus Rex Anthem”
- “Pizza Planet Promo”
- “We Belong Together”
- “Buzz Beats!”
- “Hay Un Amigo En Mi”
- “I Can’t Let You Throw Yourself Away”
- “I Knew It, I Knew You”
- “Woody’s Roundup”
After sticking around to hear all 10 songs, “Partysaurus Rex Anthem” is my favorite – it’s funny and so fun to swirl around to. Most notably, all of the songs except “I Knew It, I Knew You” feature lyrics. This previous Alien Swirling Saucers songs were all instrumental. The songs are catchier and add the ambiance of Toy Story Land.
You can see Lilypad herself just outside the attraction! In addition to spinning the same songs actively playing on the attraction, Lilypad has fun entertainment in between songs. Lilypad sits on top of a speaker, projecting the Toy Story covers into the land.
Lilypad’s on screen chats and games are pretty clever! She rotates through “Hello!” in different languages just like you would see when activating a new Apple device. Lilypad also chats with new characters like Smarty Pants, in hilarious ways (expect potty talk and references to Toy Story 5).
Even if you’re not the biggest Toy Story 5 or Lilypad fan, it really is an upgrade to Alien Swirling Saucers and the ambiance of Toy Story Land. It would be great to lave Lilypad throughout the land like while waiting in line for Slinky Dog Dash. Seeing my son so excited to see Lilypad and dancing to the new songs really brought joy to our day at Hollywood Studios! Now if we could only get more indoor character meet and greets and shade, this land would be perfect. In the meantime, I’m thankful for a Disney World addition that feels thoughtful.
