Yoatzi Castro, a livestreamer and social media influencer, was celebrating a friend’s birthday at Disneyland when a man groped her during a photo, the content creator alleged on social media.
Man Arrested at Disneyland
Castro was in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle celebrating her friend’s birthday and taking a photo with her friends when a man in a white T-shirt groped her.
In a social media post, Castro said, “I am so … livid and I am so upset. I’m so grateful that we were livestreaming and we were able to capture it.”
Her Instagram video included a clip of the encounter and a zoomed-in image of the man.
The clip shows the man moving toward the castle with a female partner, walking close to Castro. His hand briefly disappears from the camera’s view. Moments after, Castro turns around, follows him, and punches him in the back.
Castro also verbally confronts him during the clip, and the man claims, “What are you talking about?”
Promptly after the incident, Castro says Disneyland security officers found the man and contacted the Anaheim Police Department, which arrested him.
Spokesperson for the Anaheim police, Eric Anderson, said the incident took place at 8 p.m and the man was arrested on suspicion of sexual battery. The man was cited and released that same evening. A court date is still being determined.
Anaheim Police were not aware of any prior incidents involving this man and did not immediately release his name. An investigation is pending.
Castro said in a follow-up social media post that she was grateful to Disneyland’s security team and, “As women, we always have to have our guard up, because you never know when men like this are around us,” she said in the second Instagram post.
We’ve seen several other arrests at theme parks recently, including a Universal’s Epic Universe Team Member arrested for solicitation of a minor.
