Earlier this month, someone at Disney Cruise Line’s private island, Castaway Cay, was evacuated by helicopter due to a medical emergency.

Reddit user codenameoxcart shared photos and details in r/dcl. They said the medevac took place during their sailing on the Disney Wish from September 11 through 14, 2026. They witnessed the evacuation from their guest room balcony, which faced the island’s helipad.

Though not confirmed, codenameoxcart believed the individual had heat stroke. They were transported back to Florida.

Codenameoxcart wrote, “Taking nothing away from the individual needing assistance, but it was pretty damn cool to see the logistics behind something like this that you don’t see every day.”

The medevac crew had two pilots and two paramedics. While waiting for the patient, the pilots snapped some photos with the Wish.

We don’t know if the individual evacuated was a guest or Cast Member.

Castaway Cay is located in The Bahamas near Great Abaco Island, about 190 miles east of Miami.
