New monster-sized architectural details are taking shape on the former Gonzo’s Royal Flush restroom building in Monstropolis at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Monstropolis Construction Update

Several gold-colored metal elements have been installed around the building’s upper facade. The riveted pieces resemble exaggerated structural braces, contributing to the industrial architecture of the monster city.

Crews remain active across multiple levels of scaffolding, while the building’s water tower and previously installed tooth-like decorations are visible above the construction walls.

The concrete columns marking the entrance to Monstropolis remain exposed, with scaffolding filling much of the area beyond them.

Nearby, the operational clock tower of The Glob theater remains unobstructed. As seen in our previous construction update, scaffolding has been removed from the tower and main entrance facade, though metal posts for the future marquee and other unfinished details remain.

Monstropolis is replacing the former Muppets Courtyard and will begin opening in phases in 2027. The land will include Welcome to Monstropolis! With Sulley & Mike at The Glob and a suspended door coaster scheduled to debut in a later phase.

Disney also shared the names of other Monstropolis dining venues and shops, the name of The Glob stage show, details of Harryhausen’s, and an inside look at the door roller coaster.
