There’s a new DJ moving into Andy’s backyard, and she’s bringing a whole new soundtrack with her. Beginning Friday, September 25, 2026, Alien Swirling Saucers at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will introduce Lilypad’s Jams, featuring new music and entertainment inspired by Lilypad from Pixar’s Toy Story 5.
Lilypad is the frog-shaped smart tablet introduced in the newest Toy Story movie, and Disney Imagineers are putting her technology to work as the attraction’s new DJ. The updated soundtrack will mix familiar music from the Toy Story films with original songs written specifically for Alien Swirling Saucers, jumping between pop, country, EDM, alt-rock, and other musical styles.
Toy Story Favorites Are Getting Remixed
Imagineers worked with musicians in Nashville to create new versions of some very familiar Toy Story songs, including “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” “We Belong Together,” and “I Can’t Let You Throw Yourself Away.” Rather than simply dropping the original tracks into the attraction’s rotation, the songs have been reworked to fit the energy of Alien Swirling Saucers.
There are original songs coming, too. “Pizza Planet Promo” is an in-universe theme song for everyone’s favorite Toy Story pizza arcade, while “Spin It Back, Lilypad” celebrates the newest toy in the backyard. Disney also teased that Partysaurus Rex will be getting some additional playtime with Lilypad behind the controls.
And I have to admit, writing an actual Pizza Planet jingle specifically for Alien Swirling Saucers feels wonderfully ridiculous in exactly the right Toy Story way.
You Won’t Have to Ride to Hear Lilypad
One of the more interesting parts of this update is that the new entertainment isn’t limited to guests riding Alien Swirling Saucers. Lilypad will also act as a DJ throughout the surrounding area, introducing songs and entertaining guests between tracks.
Disney says guests may be asked to figure out which toy Lilypad is drawing on her app, help unscramble puzzles, and watch “home videos” she’s recorded featuring familiar Toy Story characters. That should give this corner of Toy Story Land a little more life even when you’re simply walking through rather than getting aboard a saucer.
It’s a relatively small attraction update, but I really like the idea of Imagineering using Lilypad to add something new without taking away the Toy Story music and characters people already associate with the land. And with Toy Story 5 arriving on Disney+ September 23, the timing certainly isn’t accidental.
Alien Swirling Saucers: Lilypad’s Jams begins September 25, 2026, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Now I just want to hear this Pizza Planet song because I have a feeling it could become stuck in our heads for the remainder of 2026.
