Shortly after more animal statues appeared in the Animation Courtyard, a playful new pair has joined the party: Oliver and Dodger from Oliver & Company.

‘Oliver & Company’ Statues in Animation Courtyard

The stars of 1988’s Oliver & Company can be found sitting near a bench in the grass area of the courtyard. Oliver, an orange tabby kitten, sits atop Dodger, a long-haired Jack Russell Terrier wearing a red bandana. They’re hungrily eyeing a (fake) hot dog with a squiggle of mustard.

Oliver & Company is a musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist featuring New York animals voiced and sung by Billy Joel, Bette Midler, and Huey Lewis.

The last attraction in this area that has yet to open is The Magic of Disney Animation. It opens on September 14. The Magic of Disney Animation will include a new Animation Academy experience hosted by Olaf (instead of live artists) and six new meet-and-greets. Disney released a map of the space in late May.
