Crush’s Coaster in Disneyland Paris’ Disney Adventure World is undergoing its most extensive technical refurbishment in its 20-year history.

Crush’s Coaster Refurbishment

The family coaster closed for work in early September and will remain closed until next summer. DLP Works has shared a few refurbishment updates. Construction walls surround the attraction and scaffolding is being installed around the outdoor queue.

There’s a tarp on the left side of the attraction’s façade to protect the mural while nearby walls are painted a darker shade of blue.

According to DLP Works, the building will get another painted mural. The “5” at the top will be replaced by a “D” similar to one on the World Premiere building.

During phase one of construction, teams are working on the ride itself to replace several technical components such as certain control systems, sensors, communication equipment, and selected sections of track.

The second phase will focus on an extensive program of testing and technical validation, which is essential to ensuring that all systems are functioning properly before the attraction reopens to guests.

Throughout the project, Disneyland Paris teams and external contractors will clean, repaint, and repair scenic components inside and out. Ride vehicles will be refurbished.

No building permits have been filed.

While Crush’s Coaster previously underwent an extended six-month closure in 2015, the current project represents the most extensive refurbishment ever carried out on the attraction since its opening nearly 20 years ago in 2007.

As a result of this refurbishment, the Worlds of Pixar meet-and-greet space is partially closed. Woody is now meeting at the Barrel of Monkeys shop.
