Disney has added a new male African painted dog to the pack at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

New African Painted Dog

Named Prospect, the dog can be seen on the savanna during Kilimanjaro Safaris.

Disney has not yet shared more details about Prospect.

August 26 was World Painted Dog Day and the Disney Conservation Fund posted about their 20+ year support of Painted Dog Conservation, protecting the species population in Zimbabwe. There are less than 7,000 painted dogs left in the wild.

A new adult gorilla also debuted at Disney’s Animal Kingdom this summer.
