We have learned the reason for the unexpected closure of Steakhouse 71 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

The restaurant was closed on September 6 and guests had their reservations canceled. We now know Cast Members were told the closure was for “unplanned maintenance.”

The Walt Disney World website states Steakhouse 71 is open today with reservations available.

Steakhouse 71 is an American eatery located in the Contemporary Resort that opened in 2021 during Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. It replaced The Wave… Of American Flavors and acts as an East Coast version of the permanently closed Steakhouse 55 at Disneyland Hotel.
