The Fat★One – $15.99

Footlong hot dog piled high with roasted pork, pepperoni, chili beans, Cheddar cheese sauce, red onion sauce, fries, soft bun

We had to start with the restaurant’s signature dog, a footlong topped with multiple meats, beans, cheese, and fries (yes, on the dog), plus a sprinkling of chives. The bun is lightly toasted but still soft inside for a nice textural contrast. The hot dog is split and cooked just right, and the toppings, while piled on, are proportional so that you get all the flavors and textures in each bite. That also means it’s messy and not conducive to picking up and eating, so we advise cutlery.

Even on a 90-plus degree day after standing in the sun, this was an easy 7, and we’ll enjoy it even more on a cooler day — especially with napkins and forks.

The Brazilian – $14.99

Grilled linguica sausage, onion sauce, jalapeño vegan mayo, Cotija, Calabrian honey, red peppers, cilantro, potato sticks, brioche bun

This sausage is spicy, but we really like it! We loved the warm, smoky spice that permeated every bite of this. If you’re sensitive to heat, this might be a little too much for you. Not all of the spice is just heat; a lot of it is flavorful, due to the number and variety of ingredients. While we didn’t quite understand the need to put vegan mayo on a non-vegan dish, it didn’t detract.

Note that we found the casing to be a little tough to cut through, so this is the one dog that we found easier to pick up and eat (but only if you’re not sharing).

Johnny’s Pizza – $12.49

Neapolitan tomato sauce, melted mozzarella, pepperoni, Parmesan-parsley butter, brioche bun

This mash-up of a pepperoni pizza with a hot dog won us over despite its crazy appearance. The soft bun is soaked through with Parmesan butter, so between that and the sauce (which we loved), this is not structurally sound enough to eat with your hands. With the pizza-meets-hot-dog profile, kids will probably love this; just garnish it with a chicken nugget.

The Vegan – $13.99

Vegan hot dog, red onion sauce, signature mustard, relish, bun

For a vegan sausage, this is not that bad, and the toppings were tasty, if a bit traditional. We always appreciate theme parks making the effort to include vegans on their menus, and this is a pretty good option.

Loaded Pop Fries with Cheese, Bacon, Ranch & Chives – $7.49

Gluten-sensitive

We got the loaded fries with bacon, ranch, cheese, and chives. Under all those toppings, the fries themselves are a little mushy. When you pile this much stuff on top of fries, the fries have to be crisp enough to support it, and these fries are just a bit short of perfect.

In short, you can get loaded fries anywhere, and if you’re coming here, go for one of the fantastic hot dogs instead.

Blue Raspberry Italian Ice – $6.79

The single serving comes scooped in a paper cup and is served with a spoon. The scoop is densely packed, but the texture of the ice itself is nice and smooth. The blue raspberry flavor was a good match, a refreshing and sweet (albeit conventional) choice.

Cotton Candy Italian Ice – $6.79

We opted to try the cotton candy because it’s an unusual flavor to find in Italian ice. It starts subtle but then builds to a nice punch of sweetness that isn’t sickly or overwhelming, which is impressive for a cotton candy flavor. Overall, these are really refreshing and a great treat on a hot day.

Lemon Italian Ice with Alcohol – $13.79

All of the Italian ice flavors can be ordered with a shot of alcohol — vodka, bourbon, or rum. In this form, you get a larger serving of the ice in a plastic cup with the alcohol in a pipette (still no straw, though). We tried the classic lemon Italian ice with a vodka shot.

This was an automatic 7. We never knew we needed boozy Italian ice in our lives, but after standing in the sun for hours, the combo of tart, refreshing lemon with vodka was absolutely delicious.

We also saw guests ordering up to three different flavors in one cup this way, so we wanted to note that as an option.
