Rolling planters and tarps have been placed near the front of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to conceal work being done on the railings.

We spotted the long row of rolling planters on Wednesday, September 9, along the walkway to the buses at the front of the resort. A white tarp is also placed to hide the construction area.

There are currently directional signs around the area that say “Please Utilize Alternate Walkway” and “Bus Stop” to help guests get to their desired destination.

In other photos, seen above, two crew members could be seen working on the railings, with one placed on the grass.

Grand Floridian Refurbishment

This isn’t the only construction going on at the resort. Back in November 2025, Disney announced that the Grand Floridian would be going under extensive refurbishment. Earlier this year, the timeline was extended until early 2027. This includes various areas of the resort, including the porte cochere, which began refurbishment in March 2026.

The construction also included the lobby and the Perch lobby bar, which reopened in October and November 2025, respectively.

The Grand Floridian Café recently closed in July, but will seemingly reopen on November 2, 2026, as guests can now make certain reservations.
