Crews have mostly stripped the walls and are starting to remove roofing from Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop in Disney Springs. During a major refurbishment of the location, a temporary Ghirardelli is open in Town Center.

Ghirardelli Refurbishment

Here’s what the building looked like before construction and how it looks now. As we reported in July, large signs and the entrance overhang were removed. Now the patterned wall panels are almost completely gone.

The exception is a diamond-patterned section of wall behind a “Ghirardelli” sign on this side. The colorful stained glass windows beneath this sign also remain in place. We don’t know the status of the mural below the windows.

Since our last update, the eagle sign and paneling have been removed from this front wall, leaving plywood showing instead.

Most of the rooftops have no more shingles. The supports on this roof are for a giant light-up sign.

This wall has been stripped down to the studs. The insulation that was still visible a few weeks ago is gone.

This Ghirardelli location has operated since 1996. The renovation will add indoor seating, help reduce wait times, and more. It’s expected to reopen in spring 2027.
