Likely scenes in the Coco boat ride at Disney California Adventure have been revealed thanks to sleuthing by Drew Smith a.k.a. @DrewDisneyDude.
Coco Ride Scenes
Drew discovered behind-the-scenes footage from Walt Disney Imagineering that lists these scenes for the ride:
- Ernesto’s Mausoleum — Miguel steals the guitar and is cursed
- Land of the Dead — Entering the Land of the Dead on Día de los Muertos
- Un Poco Loco — Miguel and Héctor perform at the competition
- Outside Ernesto’s Mansion — Miguel arrives at Ernesto’s party
- The World Es Mi Familia — Miguel performs to get Ernesto’s attention
- Mansion Hallway — Héctor realizes Ernesto poisoned him
- Cenote — Miguel and Héctor are family
- Finale — Miguel performs Proud Corazón
These won’t necessarily be all of the ride’s scenes, and plans could have changed since that footage was filmed, but considering the ride goes through the story of Coco, the inclusion of these major scenes is a safe bet.
Though the ride will recount the movie’s story, it is technically set one year later. Guests enter through the Casa Museo de la Familia, a museum dedicated to the musical life and legacy of Miguel’s great-great-grandfather, Héctor Rivera. Guests will board boats and travel through Miguel’s memories of the movie’s events.
It will also include references to the upcoming Coco 2.
