A special edition doll inspired by a Magic Kingdom Guest Relations tour guide is now available at Walt Disney World. It was first released online earlier this month.
Special Edition Guest Relations Cast Member Doll – $64.99
The figure wears the blue plaid, equestrian-inspired costume associated with cast members who lead scheduled Magic Kingdom guided experiences. The outfit includes a skirt, vest, ruffled blouse, capelet, and white knee-high socks. The doll dons a riding-style cap and comes with a miniature riding crop, as well as a cast member name tag, gold-toned pin, and Orange Bird figure.
Although the outfit is not often seen by regular guests, it remains in use. Most guests are more familiar with Walt Disney World’s Private VIP Tour guides, who wear a contemporary costume consisting of a white button-up shirt with red and blue tartan accents and dark trousers. Those guides can frequently be seen accompanying private groups throughout all four Walt Disney World theme parks.
The blue costume represented by the doll is less commonly spotted because it is primarily worn by guides leading separately ticketed Magic Kingdom tours like Disney’s Keys to the Kingdom Tour, a five-hour walking experience covering the history, design, attractions, backstage areas, and underground Utilidor system of Magic Kingdom. They hold the riding crop aloft to help members of the group follow them through crowded areas.
The packaging repeats the blue plaid pattern around its borders. A black-and-white view of Main Street, U.S.A., and Cinderella Castle forms the backdrop behind the doll. She is poseable and measures about 11 1/2″ tall.
This follows a super-limited edition Martha Blanding Guest Relations Cast Member doll released at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.
