Just days after Amazon Prime canceled Marvel’s Spider-Noir, the series won five Emmy Awards.
Spider-Noir Emmy Wins
The live-action Spider-Verse spinoff series had 11 Emmy nominations, the most of any Prime Video series in 2026.
Spider-Noir won Outstanding Title Design, Outstanding Sound Editing For A Comedy Or Drama Series (One Hour) for the episode “The Man In The Mask”, Outstanding Cinematography For A Series (One Hour) for the episode “Step Into My Office”, Outstanding Special Visual Effects In A Single Episode for the episode “Nightmare On A Gurney”, and Outstanding Stunt Coordination For Comedy Programming.
Its other nominations were for Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Period Or Fantasy Program (One Hour Or More) for “Step Into My Office”, Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Comedy Or Drama Series (One Hour) for “Step Into My Office”, Outstanding Stunt Performance for “Tread Lightly”, Outstanding Music Composition For A Series (Original Dramatic Score) for “Step Into My Office”, Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup for “Betrayal”, and Outstanding Original Music And Lyrics for the song “The Devil You Know.”
Spider-Noir was first announced in May 2024 and premiered on Amazon Prime on May 27, 2026. In the hard-boiled series set in the 1930s, Cage stars as Ben Reilly, a private investigator whose past life as New York’s only superhero, The Spider, catches up with him. Episodes were aired in both color and black-and-white.
The one-season series fared well both critically and with audiences, garnering a 92% critics score and 90% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite the strong showing, Amazon opted not to renew Spider-Noir for any future seasons.
Spider-Noir was the second series to be greenlit but the first to actually make it to air under a deal between Amazon MGM Studios and Sony to create content based on Sony’s Marvel characters.
This alternate version of Peter Parker, known as Spider-Man Noir, was first introduced in his own comic book series in 2009 as part of the Marvel Noir universe. Actor Nicolas Cage voiced the character in 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse before donning the trench coat for real in his first regular TV role after four-plus decades of acclaimed film work.
