The Muppet Show revival variety special won four awards at the Creative Arts Emmys on September 5, which is also officially the 50th anniversary of the original Muppet Show‘s air date of September 5, 1976.
- Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded)
- Outstanding Writing For A Variety Special
- Outstanding Production Design For A Variety Special
- Outstanding Picture Editing For Variety Programming
It was also nominated for Sound Mixing for a Variety Special, but lost to the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show. Actor Matt Vogel is still up for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance for his performance as Kermit the Frog in the special.
‘The Muppet Show’
The variety special, which premiered on February 4 on Disney+ and ABC, stars Sabrina Carpenter and was executive produced by Seth Rogen. Ahead of its premiere, The Muppet Show earned a rare 100% Rotten Tomatoes score, and quickly reached 7.58 million viewers within its first week of airing.

Despite the critical and audience acclaim, Disney has yet to announce any plans to produce more episodes of The Muppet Show.
