The construction walls around the Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar patio and Tangaroa Terrace Bar & Grill have been refreshed with theming at the Disneyland Hotel.

Tropical Theming Added to Construction Walls

Last week, refurbishment work began on the outdoor seating areas around Tangaroa Terrace and Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar. While both venues remain open for business, the guest experience was less than ideal, as the expansive patio was surrounded by scaffolding and staged construction materials.

A few days later, the overall effect is much more aesthetically pleasing. While the patio remains completely enclosed, the scaffolding has been covered with an opaque brown scrim and themed walls have been erected at the entrance to Tangaroa Terrace.

A sign of a grinning Tiki mask welcomes guests and lets them know that Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar is still open and that daily live music is ongoing during renovations. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner times are also posted.

Guests can access the walk-up bar, mobile order pick-up, and outdoor seating area through the orange and teal walls, which are decorated with Polynesian-inspired designs.

Our reporter said the walls actually give the patio a surprisingly private, intimate feel. Bar seating, a standing table, and a handful of tables are still available.

The scrim wraps around to the entrance to Trader Sam’s, where another Tiki mask sign is posted.

The brown, orange, and teal walls are also behind the scrim on the Trader Sam’s side of the patio, which has its own outdoor barstools and reserved tables.

Be aware that the tables and chairs are pushed right up against the walls, which may be uncomfortable for some guests.

Trader Sam’s Inside Refurbishment
