A TikToker is going viral for claiming she “almost died” at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland after inhaling some of the foam on the Fuzzy Tauntaun drink.
Choking on the Fuzzy Tauntaun
User @anaamyle (Mylee) posted a video taken inside Oga’s Cantina at Disneyland with the text “almost dying at Disney.” After trying her first drink, she then got the Fuzzy Tauntaun, a cocktail topped with “Buzz Button Tingling” Foam. The foam is made from the buzz button flower and causes a numbing, tingling sensation.
Mylee accidentally inhaled the foam when licking it and laughing, sending it down the “wrong pipe.” This led the numbing foam to affect her breathing.
“I genuinely could not breathe,” she said in a voice over. “My throat and my lungs had needles stabbing me… And then the anxiety raising up.”
In the video, she became visibly distressed as she tried taking a breath. Her friends got her water and helped calmed her down.
Commenters guessed Mylee was experiencing laryngospasm, an involuntary spasm of the vocal folds.
The tingling foam is labeled on the menu and servers usually warn drinkers of its effects and to be careful while drinking. We don’t know if a server gave Mylee such a warning.
That said, accidentally breathing in anything wrong can lead to choking sensations.
Despite many commenters saying the drink shouldn’t exist and that Mylee should sue Disney, the incident can be chalked up to user error.
The Fuzzy Tauntaun has remained a popular drink since its introduction with the bar’s opening in 2019.
