Tokyo Disney Offering Previews of Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull Before It Reopens

Tokyo Disney Resort is offering a select group of people the chance to experience the updated version of Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull before it officially reopens on November 30, 2026. The ride is located in Tokyo DisneySEA.

Tokyo Disneyland Resort offering select guests to ride Indiana Jones: Temple of the Crystal Skull before it officially opens on November 30

In a new post shared by Tokyo Disneyland’s Instagram account, they announced that 25 groups, 50 people total, will be the first to ride Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull before the general public.

This campaign’s application period begins October 1 and ends on October 15. Guests who want to apply can do so on Tokyo Disney’s website.

According to a rough translation of the Instagram post, the event will take place on November 30 before the park opens. There will also be limited-time drinks, group photo shoots, and more.

Closed for Refurbishment

The year-long closure of Indiana Jones Adventure for refurbishment began August 18, 2025, so the reopening date of November 30, 2026 would mean the ride will have been closed for more than 15 months.

While Tokyo Disney Resort admits to doing inspections and necessary maintenance, they also announced changes to the ride in the form of new projection mapping effects and audio.

Indiana Jones Adventure at Tokyo DisneySea uses an identical ride system and track as the Disneyland version of the ride, which is subtitled Temple of the Forbidden Eye. The rides have different stories, however. The Disneyland version is set in 1935 India at the temple of Mara. Temple of the Crystal Skull — which opened in 2001 and is unrelated to the 2008 film Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull — is set in Mexico and involves the search for the Fountain of Youth.
