We noticed the tower crane was added on Friday, September 11, and can be seen around Magic Kingdom and beyond. We even saw it from Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

As shown in the photos below, we got a better view of the crane and construction site from Big Thunder Mountain Railroad’s queue.

The crane is also clearly visible from other parts of the park, including the Crystal Palace located on Main Street, U.S.A. See the photo below.

Just last week, we noticed that the tower crane was being assembled. The crane’s base was installed and the foundation was poured in July.

Piston Peak Construction

Piston Peak National Park is a Cars-themed expansion to Frontierland featuring two rides: Cars Ridge Run Rally and Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin Along. The area replaces the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island.

Disney has not announced an opening date for Piston Peak.
