Crews are moving debris and planting new trees at the future Coco ride construction site at Disney California Adventure.

The ride is under construction on the west side of Disney California Adventure, between IncrediCoaster and Disneyland Drive. Crews are digging a deep trench just behind the fencing near the road.

This week, an excavator was working along this trench.

Crews were using another excavator to clear rocks from the site. Before construction began, this area had trees and shrubbery, a sidewalk, and trailer offices.

On the road side of the tall fence, crew members are planting new trees. They join smaller plants and will help block visible construction from view.

Closer to the park is a forklift and two concrete trucks. This may mean some pavement or foundations will soon be poured.

Though Disney hasn’t announced the name or opening timeframe of the ride, they did share story details at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. They also teased Coco 2.
