Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a new permit that affects the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows.

The Notice of Commencement was filed today, September 18, by Walt Disney Imagineering. The permit allows Faden Builders Inc. to provide “general construction” to 4601 Floridian Way, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830, the location of the DVC Island Tower. The permit expires one year from now.

 Faden Builders offers a full range of construction services and has worked in themed entertainment before, as well as on other Walt Disney World buildings.

We’re not sure yet what “general construction” work the Island Tower will be undergoing in the future. Disney has not announced anything.

The DVC Island Tower had a construction project earlier this year when crews started converting a set of exterior doors into a large window designed to better match the surrounding lobby windows facing Seven Seas Lagoon. The project was completed a month later in May 2026.
