Walt Disney Imagineering has shared a behind-the-scenes look at the new Solara, the Enchanted Pumpkin Tree, seen aboard the Disney Destiny. It was announced earlier this year that the Disney Destiny will have Halloween on the High Seas for the first time.
Solara, the Enchanted Pumpkin Tree Show

In the video shared on the Walt Disney Imagineering Instagram page, the crew gave viewers a sneak peek of a new show that features the large glowing animatronic, which has several branches with jack-o’-lanterns hanging from them.
“We wanted to take the duality of the theme of the ship, which is heroes and villains, and put them together in a celebration of how do you celebrate Halloween,” the show’s director, Philip, said.
He also explained that while guests are sleeping, the crew gets to work by making sure the lighting on Solara and around the architecture of the Grand Hall is correct.
When it comes to the audio, Philip explained that the track they created, as well as the dialogue for the tree, is heard around the Grand Hall to give more of an immersive feel.
During the day, the actors rehearse so the crew can see them interact with the tree, lighting, and sound to “make sure that it is the best show that we can give and everything works together.”

While Solara is new on the Disney Destiny, other ships have their own pumpkin tree shown in the ship’s Grand Hall or Atrium. They each have their own unique name, personality, and story:
- Reap on the Disney Magic
- Bog on the Disney Wonder
- Grim on the Disney Dream
- Muckelbones on the Disney Fantasy
- Boo on the Disney Wish
- Ginger on the Disney Treasure
