Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge continues to take shape along Bay Lake between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

Lakeshore Lodge Construction Update

Viewed from across the water, the main hotel building is gradually approaching its finished appearance. Most of the guest room windows and balcony railings are in place, while gray, brown, and pale green finishes now cover large portions of the exterior.

Crews were active during our weekend visit, including around the pavilion-like structures rising above the upper floors. Additional glass panels are being installed around these elevated sections, with scaffolding still surrounding the tallest structure. Workers also appear to be adding panels and roofing materials around the tops of the buildings.

Several areas on the sides of the hotel remain unfinished. A construction lift was extended toward one large wall as crews continued applying exterior paneling and other surface treatment.

More broad sections are currently covered in flat pale green panels. While Disney has not confirmed what will ultimately appear on these walls, similar green areas elsewhere on the resort have served as foundations for large nature-inspired murals. The waterfront side of the hotel already features murals depicting trees and other plant life, so the remaining blank sections may eventually receive comparable artwork.

Dark teal waterslide sections were recently staged around the pool complex. Since our previous Lakeshore Lodge construction update, crews have installed more of the slide’s reddish-brown support structure. The new framework begins to reveal the path that the slide will take above the recreation area, though most of the teal slide tubing has not yet been lifted into place.

The Wetlands will be the sprawling outdoor recreation space at Disney Lakeshore Lodge. This area encompasses the beauty of the nature around it through its wetlands-inspired aesthetic. Each area was inspired by a different element of Disney storytelling. You will notice the call back to “the heron and the otter are my friends” from “Colors of the Wind” in the play area above. The slide can be seen on the right in the concept art above.

Each of the areas will also have certain activities for guests of varying ages:

• Heron Shores – hands-on play with climbing features
• Otter Springs – interactive water features for young kids to splash and slide
• Daydream River – the area’s lazy river

Nearby, construction continues throughout The Wetlands recreation complex. Other scenic elements are being assembled around the Otter Springs children’s water-play area, while exposed supports are receiving wood-like finishes that complement the resort’s nature-inspired design.

The separate A-frame Lake Houses are also visible along the shoreline. These waterfront accommodations will feature one- and two-bedroom layouts inspired by Brother Bear, complete with private porches, full kitchens, and views across Bay Lake. Disney Lakeshore Lodge

Disney Lakeshore Lodge will include 967 rooms and is projected to open in summer 2027, according to the resort’s ongoing “Letters from Lakeshore” updates.

Disney also recently revealed three resort restaurants and new concept art for the lobby and fireworks lounge, while earlier artwork provided a closer look at The Wetlands recreation area.
