Each week, things are changing nearly constantly in Disney World, and since we’re in the parks nearly every day, it’s our job to keep an eye on them so you know what to expect.
However, this also means there are tons of rumors that swirl around the parks each week. We caution you pretty often to be careful of what you believe, because not everything you read is true. Now, that’s not the case for our site — we bring you the news that IS true, or we’ll make things clear that it’s something we’re speculating, but we’ve gotta admit that there have been some interesting rumors flying around this past week, and more of them are true than you may realize!
Cosmic Rewind Evacuation
You may have heard some chatter about an evacuation of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT, and we can confirm that the rumor is true! It’s not uncommon for rides to see an evacuation, but what was interesting about this one was that it all started with the preshow being down. We thought the ride itself was fine, even though we were being rerouted backstage to get to the ride vehicles.
However, things really changed when the ride not only started being evacuated, but the fire alarms went off. Cast Members began moving people out of the buildings QUICKLY — there was no lollygagging here. Everyone was safely moved outside, and guests were all told to move far away from the building, keeping the exit clear. A lot of people immediately headed to Guest Relations to see if they could be given a Lightning Lane to use on the ride in the future, and many experience redemptions were given out.
It just so happened that we were in the right place at the right time to catch this happening and be part of it, but it serves as a good reminder that when things like this happen, it’s important to listen to Cast Members to ensure everyone is safe.

Disneyland in Ohio?
You may have also heard a rumor earlier this week about a Disneyland park coming to Ohio. This all began when an article and corresponding social media video began circulating that claimed Disney was building a new park in the state, which would include thirty resorts, 100 pickleball courts, and an entire Marvel-themed park. People began speculating whether it was true, but we can report that this rumor is entirely false.
The original news story was posted on a satirical news site, which means they’re known for posting articles that are deliberately untrue. Disney has announced no plans to build a theme park in Cincinnati or anywhere else in Ohio, and currently the company’s only new project in development is Disney Abu Dhabi. Again — always check your sources before believing news!

Leaving The Autograph Books Behind
We spotted a popular reel on social media this week of someone getting their pair of black ears signed by Disney characters throughout the parks, and we saw that it brought up some questions from people asking if characters signing items other than autograph books are allowed. The answer is yes!
We’ve personally had a photo mat signed, as well as water bottles. There are a number of different items characters can autograph for you, as long as it’s not on someone’s actual body, something too small, or something that’s too flimsy for a character to hold. An autograph book is a safe bet, for sure, but we also love the idea of them signing something that you’ll be able to look at every day, wear in the parks, or use!
It’s a trend that we think is super cute, and while not everything will be able to be signed, the possibilities are wide open for what you can use to make those memories!
