A Disney World day means miles and miles of walking, so what you put on your feet matters almost as much as which snacks you grab.
Hoka Clifton 10
We asked our readers to settle one of the great Disney Parks debates once and for all, and they did NOT hold back. We set out to end the great question “Crocs or sneakers?” The comments rolled in fast. Some of you are loyal to a single pair, some of you pack a whole shoe wardrobe, and a few of you have learned your lesson the hard way.
The Results Are In!
Drumroll, please: 70% of readers said sneakers are the way to go for a full day at Disney World.
Here’s the full breakdown:
- Team Sneakers: 70%
- Team Crocs: 18%
- Team “Why Not Both?”: 9%
- Team “Whatever’s Comfy”: 3%
But the numbers only tell part of the story. The real fun is in WHY you picked your side, so let’s get into it.
We love HOKA!
Team Sneakers: Support Wins Every Time
For the sneaker crowd, it all comes down to one thing: making it from rope drop to fireworks without wanting to sit down on the nearest curb. Gillian McCreesh tried just about everything before landing on her answer, “I had Crocs, flip-flops, Skechers sandals, but trainers, specifically on clouds, were the only ones I could wear all day. Super comfy, lightweight, and breathable, they tick all the boxes”. Staci Richardson Barnett has her system down to the exact model, saying, “Broken In Sneakers for whole trip. My Hoka Clifton 10s and an alternate Hoka Bondi for the whole trip for me.”
If you want to copy Staci’s setup, the Hoka Men’s Clifton 10 is the pair she named. The Clifton line is known for a thick, cushioned sole in a lightweight shoe, which is exactly what you want when you’re on your feet from morning until the park closes. Just follow her lead and get them broken in before you leave home!
And Kristen Cladek reminded us that the shoe is only half the equation: “Sneakers! Well broken in! And most importantly GOOD socks!!”
Still looking for a pair to start breaking in? The Brooks Women’s Glycerin GTS 21 Supportive Running Shoe is worth a look if you want cushion AND stability. It pairs a soft, plush sole with built-in support that helps keep your stride steady, which can make a difference when your legs get tired late in a long park day.
Team Crocs: Cool, Quick-Drying, and Proud
Crocs fans made their case just as loudly, and their argument is tough to beat on a hot, rainy Florida afternoon: your feet stay cool, and a surprise downpour is no big deal. Ellie Miles put hers through a serious test, writing, “I wore Minnie Mouse Crocs for two full weeks. I think they are the perfect park shoe as they aren’t hot on your feet and it doesn’t matter at all if they get wet!”
Want to match Ellie’s park-day look? The Crocs Women’s Disney Mickey & Minnie Mouse Clogs put everyone’s favorite mice right on your feet. They’re lightweight, easy to slip on and off, and they rinse clean and dry fast after a rainstorm or a water ride. They also have a heel strap you can flip back for a more secure fit when you’re covering serious ground.
Krystle Barstow says sneakers just can’t compete, writing, “Crocs! My feet never hurt when I wear them! Any type of sneaker always ends up hurting. Crocs always dry quicker as well!” Not every Crocs story has a happy ending, though. Maninder Glenn shared a cautionary tale: “I wore my favorite Crocs to the parks the first time and wore a hole through them.” That’s a LOT of walking. Consider this your sign to check the soles before you pack them.

Team “Why Not Both?”: The Shoe Swappers
Here’s the plot twist. A whole group of you refused to pick a side at all, and your strategy might be the smartest one in the bunch. Bill Chasing Disney rotates pairs from day to day: “Honestly, I’ve found bringing a few options and switching each day keeps the pressure points variable and helps prevent blisters.” Another reader wrote: “I actually tend to change partway through the day. I’ll do Skechers all day and invariably swap to my Crocs for the evening.” Lindsay Fairbairn does the same, writing, “I usually bring a 2nd pair of something and switch mid-day…I usually start in gym shoes and end up in Crocs or sandals.” Sneakers for the heavy walking, Crocs for the evening wind-down. It’s hard to argue with that!

So, Who’s Right?
Maybe everybody. Charity Sturdevant summed it up best: “I think whatever is the most comfortable for someone is the winner. I couldn’t imagine walking around in Crocs, but I know many love them.”
Whichever team you’re on, our readers agreed on a few things:
- Break your shoes in before the trip. New shoes and long park days don’t mix.
- Don’t skimp on socks. A good pair that stays put can save you from blisters.
- Pack a backup pair. Swapping shoes changes up the pressure points and gives your feet a break.
- Plan for wet feet. Crocs dry fast, which is a big deal when the rain rolls in.
