A major transportation change is coming to the Disneyland Resort, and guests staying at any of the nearby Good Neighbor Hotels NEED to be aware of it!
Starting November 2nd, the location for shuttles bringing guests of adjacent hotels to and from Disneyland is moving a new area near the Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney area.
This new drop-off location is located on the west side of Downtown Drive, adjacent to the Disneyland Hotel valet loop in the new Downtown Disney District Shuttle Area. In conjunction with the opening, the transportation hub’s three north bus loops off the Esplanade will close.
The project ties into the larger Eastern Gateway project that will bring seven levels of thousands of parking spaces, new security apparatus, and more behind the hotels on Harbor Boulevard, which will be connected via sky bridge into the Disneyland Resort’s Esplanade. All of which will lead to massive changes to Disneyland’s transportation infrastructure.
Construction on the relocated Toy Story Lot shuttle drop-off in the yellow-shaded area will begin in the next few weeks. Once that work is complete, buses will move to the new temporary location as construction continues on the eastern portion of the Esplanade. https://t.co/42uZHgYOEK pic.twitter.com/HMju64w6sX

During a recent interview, Disneyland president Jill Estorino shared thoughts about the resort’s transportation changes, saying, “It’s good, not great right now. And it’s going to be great and best in class when we’re finished. And the reason I am excited about it is, I believe your first touchpoint is the most important touchpoint of the experience, and that is the first touchpoint. And it’s going to be amazing; even the parking garage experience is going to be amazing. Not only in efficiency, but in its beauty and in the way that we greet the guest.”
Of course, these changes are part of a larger transformation project coming to the Disneyland Resort that will see some massive projects coming to Disney’s original destination, including:
- The addition of two major Marvel attractions — Avengers: Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab — to Avengers Campus.
- The construction of a new Coco attraction at California Adventure.
- A long-awaited redo of Tomorrowland.
- The planned addition of an Avatar attraction to California Adventure.
Disneyland’s transportation infrastructure for Good Neighbor Hotel guests is changing on November 2nd as part of the resort’s larger transformation. Stay tuned to DFB for more on Disneyland’s evolution.
