A Disney creator known for her keen AI-spotting eye has identified AI-generated art used in the cafes onboard Disney Cruise Line.
AI Flyers in Disney Cruise Line Cafes

Disney influencer Dapper Danielle has posted several videos in which she identifies AI art on merchandise for sale at HomeGoods and other retail stores, so she was especially disappointed to find AI-generated flyers onboard the Disney Wish. She expressed her frustration at how Disney is cheapening its “amazing storytelling” and “artwork with so much depth” by having blatantly AI-generated flyers in the coffee bars and cafes on the ship.

Danielle notes that Disney Cruise Line generated over $3 billion in revenue in its last fiscal year, and questions why the company would resort to using “AI-generated slop.”

The example she dissects is the promotional flyer used to promote the seasonal Halloween on the High Seas coffee drinks served in the adults-only Cove Cafe. She notes that the design does look like it’s been cleaned up a little bit, but that the dead giveaway of AI usage is the comparison of the “illustrated” coffee cups to the actual physical cups, which feature stylized jack-o’-lanterns and Mickey pumpkins by Disney artist Caley Hicks.

Danielle also compares the flyer’s depiction of The Pumpkin King chai latte drink to the real drink she received, noting that AI can only generate an idealized version of the item nowhere close to the actual thing.
She ends the video by criticizing Disney Cruise Line for its laziness: “You can’t pay an intern over in your Celebration DCL offices just to make a little flyer for your boats?”

A WDWNT reporter who was recently onboard the Disney Fantasy noted that they also saw the same Halloween coffee flyer in the Fantasy’s Cove Cafe, although they did not take photos. That means the use of generative AI is fleetwide and not confined to just the Wish.
