Artemis Fowl is getting an animated series on Disney Channel and Disney+, author Eoin Colfer announced at New York Comic Con.

‘Artemis Fowl’ Series Coming to Disney

Colfer shared the news during a panel at New York Comic Con, adding that he will be an executive producer on the series. The original series, which first hit shelves in 2001 and consists of 11 books in total, follows the adventures of its titular 13-year-old genius protagonist who infiltrates the high-tech world of fairies in search of a cure for his dying mother.

The series has sold more than 35 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 48 languages.

This is not the first time Disney has adapted Artemis Fowl: a live-action film directed by Kenneth Branagh was released on Disney+ in 2020, but was so derided by both fans and critics that it was removed from the streaming service in 2023.
