The Banana Ball Open is coming to Walt Disney World, with ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex set to host the tournament April 15–18, 2027.

The announcement was made during the 2027 Banana Ball City Selection Show on October 15. The annual broadcast reveals the cities, stadiums, and dates for the following year’s Banana Ball tour, along with other announcements about the upcoming season.
The Banana Ball Open is a tournament within the Banana Ball Championship League calendar that offers teams an early opportunity to secure a playoff berth. All six Banana Ball teams will attend the 2027 Open, with four teams competing to win the tournament and secure an automatic spot in the season-ending playoffs, regardless of their subsequent record.
Developed by the Savannah Bananas, Banana Ball combines a modified version of baseball with dancing, trick plays, and audience participation. Its rules are designed to keep games moving, with a two-hour time limit, no bunting, and opportunities for batters to steal first base. Fans can even affect the outcome: catching a foul ball in the stands counts as an out.
Entertainment is woven into the games, with choreographed performances, player antics, and crowd interactions accompanying the action on the field.

The Banana Ball Open is the latest move in the ongoing partnership between Disney and the increasingly popular new sport of Banana Ball.
On October 10, 2026, the Banana Bowl, the post-season event for Banana Ball, streamed exclusively on Disney+.
Disneyland hosted its second annual Savannah Bananas Day on March 26, 2026, featuring fan meet-and-greets, dance numbers, merchandise, and a special cavalcade.
The 2027 Banana Ball Open tournament follows Banana Ball’s Walt Disney World debut on May 29 and 30, 2026, when the Loco Beach Coconuts faced the Party Animals on property at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
The first night included an appearance by Stitch set to “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride.” Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse also joined the “Hey Baby” singalong, marking their first official Banana Ball appearance together at Walt Disney World. The Coconuts won that opening game 4–3 following a ninth-inning comeback.
Fans wanting to secure seats for next season’s games must enter the Ticket Lottery List before it closes at 11:50 p.m. EST on Halloween night, October 31.
