The first stage adaptation of Encanto will be aboard the Disney Believe as its signature show in the Walt Disney Theater.
‘Encanto’ Show on Disney Believe
Lin-Manuel Miranda introduced the show via video. This will be the first stage adaptation of the popular Disney animated film Encanto.
The cast of the upcoming stage show performed a medley of songs from the movie, including “The Family Madrigal,” “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” “Surface Pressure,” “Waiting on a Miracle,” and more.
Encanto follows the trend of the Wish-class ships having a Broadway-style stage adaptation of a modern Disney classic, with Moana on the Disney Treasure and Hercules on the Disney Destiny.
Disney Believe Cruise Ship
The Disney Believe will set off on its maiden voyage in 2027. It is being assembled at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. The first “gigablock” floated out in September.
The Believe is the fourth Wish-class ship following the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny. It’s the same size and shape, and has the same layout as its sister ships, but will have different theming.
A fifth Wish-class ship operated by Tokyo Disney Resort owners Oriental Land Company is scheduled to begin sailing out of Japan in 2029. A class of three smaller ships will launch in 2029 and 2030.
