Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon and Pearl’s Roadside BBQ, new eateries coming to Downtown Disney, have finally resumed construction. The restaurants are supposed to open this year, though that seems doubtful at this point.
Arthur & Sons Construction Update

In our last update, the construction site for Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon and Pearl’s Roadside BBQ had steel elements outlining the buildings and rooms. The new restaurants replace Tortilla Jo’s, which permanently closed in March 2024.
This is the first real update we’ve seen since July. We’re not sure why progress had been stalled for so long.

During our recent visit to Downtown Disney, though, we noticed the construction site was now busy with construction crews again. The concrete block structure in the back remains from Tortilla Jo’s.

Several red poles have now been installed along the main pathways marking the length and width of the buildings. Yellow sheathing also now lines the steel elements delineating the rooms.

Several crew members were working on white pipes near the concrete structure. Much of the plumbing has remained the same since our last update.

On the far-right side of the construction site, several large holes in the ground near the temporary wood walls have now been filled with concrete. Tent structures that had helped keep the workers shaded were also removed.

Concept art for Arthur & Sons decorates the colorful construction walls obscuring the progress from view.
Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon and Pearl’s Roadside BBQ

Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon will serve premium cuts of beef, fresh seafood, sandwiches and salads, along with a selection of bourbon and cocktails. The interior features crisp lines mixed with rich wood tones. It will be a comfortable and sophisticated space with a prominent bar, an array of plush booths, warm table seating, and private dining.

Next door, Pearl’s Roadside BBQ is a quick service eatery blending chef-driven, modern barbecue with traditional North Carolina cookouts. Pearl’s will serve pulled pork, beef brisket, and smoked heritage turkey with house-made sauces, along with craft beers and moonshine cocktails.
A hand-painted mural sets the scene inside, along with aromas of fragrant hickory and oak. The fixtures and finishes are designed to evoke the nostalgia of a vintage filling station renovated to become a BBQ joint. The patio and Shine Bar will have views of the Downtown Disney promenade.
