New Walt Disney Animation Studios film Hexed, releasing Thanksgiving week, is estimated to make up to $70 million in its first weekend.
‘Hexed’ Box Office Predictions

Hexed will be in theaters on Wednesday, November 25, 2026. According to Boxoffice Pro, the film could make between $35M and $45M in its first three days, and between $50M and $70M in its first five days.
Though that’s nowhere near the box office results of Disney’s last two Thanksgiving releases, those were sequels: Moana 2 (2024) and Zootopia 2 (2025). Both grossed over $100M domestically on a three-day weekend. The latter become the highest-grossing animated U.S. film of all time.
But Disney saw soft box office results from its three original films released at Thanksgiving from 2021 to 2023. Encanto (2021) was the most successful, earning $27.2M in three days and $40.5M in five. Wish (2023) made $31.6M in five days and Strange World (2022) hit just $18.8M.
Hexed may not be a sequel but it does have star power. Hailee Steinfeld voices Billie Doe, a teen girl who discovers she has magical abilities. She’s joined by Rasihida Jones as her cautions mother, Alice Doe. The cast also includes Jodie Foster as Queen Celeste, Walton Goggins as Beef Roger Crumbchuck, Tracey Ullman as Ms. Quill, Stephen Fry as Elias Quire, Henry Winkler as Nigel, and Dan Stevens as Hieronymous.
It’s directed by Fawn Veerasunthorn and Jason Hand from a screenplay by Jared Bush, Dana Ledoux Miller, and Jon Robin Baitz.
Tickets are now on sale for the film. Watch the trailer below.
Maquettes and artwork for the film are on display at The Magic of Disney Animation in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The film’s release will be accompanied by Lilo & Scratch, a Lilo & Stitch short film.
