D’Amaro, who became the company’s CEO earlier this year, shared a sentimental statement on Instagram. He also posted archived photos of Walt Disney World Resort.
“Looking through these incredible photos from the @waltdisneyarchives I’m reminded of how one bold idea grew into a place where generations of families, including mine, have made memories together.
Happy 55th, @waltdisneyworld.
What still stands out most to me are the Cast Members. For 55 years, they’ve brought Walt’s vision to life, creating the moments, memories, and magic that make Walt Disney World so special every day.”
Magic Kingdom opened on October 1, 1971, along with Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Resort, and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.
