Disney Cruise Line guests report that the toddler slide in the Nemo’s Reef splash pad on the Disney Dream and Fantasy is closed permanently.
Nemo’s Reef Slide

Nemo’s Reef is a water play area nearly identical on the Dream and Fantasy. According to Disney Cruise Line guests on Facebook and Reddit, the Mr. Ray-inspired slide has been closed on both ships since April or May.
Two months ago, in a Reddit thread about the Dream’s slide, one guest said a crew member told them it was being removed, not refurbished.
Last week, we saw guests discussing the slide in a private Facebook group about taking kids on Disney Cruises. According to guests in that thread, the slide is closed on both ships and has been for several months. At least one guest heard a rumor that someone was hurt on the slide and that’s why it was being removed.

Some point to a story shared by Courtney Livingston earlier this year. Livingston’s son broke his femur at Nemo’s Reef on the Disney Dream in late 2025. Disney gifted her family a free cruise and when they sailed again, she noticed Disney had made changes to the splash pad seemingly in response to his injury.
Though this incident may be connected to Disney’s decision to close the slide, Livingston’s son was not injured on the slide and it was still open when they sailed in March 2026. However, the coral fixture he fell from was removed and the splash pad’s flooring was replaced.
The extended portion of the slide on the floor has been removed from at least the Disney Dream, but the Mr. Ray figure, coral, and stairs are still in place, according to the most recent reports. They are blocked from guest access.
Neither ship is scheduled for an upcoming dry dock, when construction work could be completed without interfering with guests.
Disney Cruise Line has not confirmed the slide’s removal but it is not mentioned or pictured on the Nemo’s Reef webpage.
Nemo’s Reef is intended for guests ages 4 and under. Children must be supervised at all times.
