Walt Disney World has updated refurbishment notices for two Disney Resort hotels, extending the expected timelines for ongoing work at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Disney’s BoardWalk Villas, as well as exterior maintenance at Disney’s Old Key West Resort.
Guests staying at or visiting these resorts should be aware that some construction activity will continue beyond the timelines previously announced by Disney.
BoardWalk Inn and Villas Refurbishment Extended Through 2027

Refurbishment work at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Disney’s BoardWalk Villas has been extended into 2027.
Disney’s updated notice now states that, “Now through 2027, refurbishment work will take place in select areas of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Disney’s BoardWalk Villas.” Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours while the project is underway.
This is an extension from Disney’s previous notice, which stated that refurbishment work in select areas of the two resorts would continue through late 2026.
The updated timeline comes as several projects continue to affect the BoardWalk area. One recently completed project was the refurbishment of the Village Green, where the existing turf was removed and replaced with new artificial turf.
However, additional work is already scheduled for 2027.
Beginning January 11, 2027, the Luna Park Pool, Luna Park Crazy Play Area, and Leaping Horse Libations are scheduled to close for routine maintenance through April 2027. Disney says the Villas Pool and Inn Pool will remain open during the closure.
The extended refurbishment notice does not specify which additional areas will be affected or provide a definitive completion date in 2027.
Old Key West Hospitality House Work Also Extended

Disney has also updated the refurbishment notice for Disney’s Old Key West Resort.
Hospitality House, the resort’s main guest services and lobby area, is undergoing exterior maintenance. Disney’s previous notice stated that the work would continue through mid-September 2026.
The newest notice now says that through fall 2026, Hospitality House will undergo exterior maintenance.
As with the previous notice, Disney warns that Guests may see or hear work during daytime hours and that, at times, they may be directed to use alternate paths of travel.
The maintenance is part of a broader period of refurbishment at Old Key West. The resort has also been undergoing guest room updates, with updates to kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms, and soft goods.
Earlier this year, several pool and recreation areas at Old Key West also underwent routine maintenance, including work involving the Turtle Pond and South Point areas.
For Guests visiting Old Key West while the Hospitality House work continues, the primary impact appears to be the possibility of daytime construction noise and temporary changes to walking routes.
