The framework for the upcoming Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings attraction has been installed as construction continues at Disney Adventure World.
Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings Framework

Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings will be the first-ever Disney Parks attraction inspired by Pixar’s Up. As Disney previously revealed, the attraction will invite guests to join Russell’s Wilderness Explorers and earn their Aviation badge. Located along Adventure Way, opposite Rapunzel’s Tangled Spin, the family-friendly ride will feature 48 chair positions accommodating 64 guests.
In an update shared on the Disneyland Paris news page, the installation of the ride’s structure is currently underway. After months of construction work, Walt Disney Imagineering Paris has added the central column of Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings. This piece will support the entire installation, which stands at 12 meters (39 feet) tall and weighs 22 tons.
“This sort of operation is always tricky, given the large components that need to be installed, especially since this particular project involves numerous highly detailed decorations that we have to handle with care,” said Timothée Pons, Ride Product Engineer at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris.

The first themed elements are currently being installed around the central mast, including hand-painted murals of a blue sky with clouds, along with Up characters Russell and Dug floating upwards from balloons.

Beneath the canopy, hundreds of multi-colored balloons will be suspended, from which guests’ seats will hang, while the exterior of the canopy will have 16 decorative panels showcasing clouds, a starry sky, and touches of gold. Furthermore, the roof will have a golden finial depicting Carl’s house being carried by balloons.
Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings is set to open in Disney Adventure World at Disneyland Paris in 2027.
We first reported earlier this week that this central ride system was installed, and balloon theming was added earlier this month.
