A scale model of Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is now on display in the Walt Disney Presents theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Lakeshore Lodge Display at Walt Disney Presents

Located toward the end of Walt Disney Presents, just before the attraction’s main auditorium, the exhibit combines a detailed model of the Bay Lake resort with concept art and smaller displays exploring its nature-inspired design.
Lakeshore Lodge will celebrate nature through the work of Disney artists and storytellers, drawing inspiration from Walt Disney’s lifelong appreciation for the outdoors. It highlights the forests of Bambi, the colorful winds of Pocahontas, and the glacial landscapes of Brother Bear as influences incorporated throughout the resort.

Above the model, six pieces of previously released concept art depict the resort’s overall layout, fireworks lounge, lobby, waterfront dining, recreation area, and an A-frame Lake House.
The large model itself provides a view of how Lakeshore Lodge’s connected hotel wings, recreation areas, waterfront accommodations, and pathways fit together.
The main building branches around two outdoor areas, with sections extending toward Bay Lake. Repeated balconies, reddish-brown vertical accents, pale exterior walls, and green roof overhangs break up the façades. Small rooftop structures and changes in building height add variety along the roofline.
Near the center of the resort, the lobby building stands out with its broad glass walls and sharply angled, overlapping roof sections and distinctive porte‑cochère. These architectural features have been visible in our construction coverage of the entrance and exterior, where crews have been working on exterior finishes, glazing, and the distinctive roof structures.
The model depicts extensive landscaping between the buildings and along the shoreline. Trees surround walking paths and smaller structures, while parking areas sit behind the main lodge.
Pools, Lazy River, and Waterfront Dining

One of the model’s most detailed sections is the larger recreation courtyard, where a bright blue pool sits beside a winding lazy river. Bridges cross the waterway, connecting paths through landscaped islands and themed play areas.
This is “The Wetlands” recreation area, which includes the Lakeshore Lagoon feature pool and Otter Springs water-play area. The model shows how the water features are arranged between the surrounding hotel wings, with walkways and planted areas separating the different activities.
The layout closely resembles Disney’s previously released pool and lazy river concept art. The physical model makes the relationship between those features easier to follow, particularly the lazy river’s route through the courtyard.

Our September aerial construction update documented installed otter sculptures and slides, crane figures beside the lazy river, and additional decking around the water features. The model places those individual construction areas within the broader recreation complex.
Closer to the shoreline, a low waterfront building occupies a wooded point in front of the main pool courtyard. Its projecting roofs and broad windows echo the waterfront dining concept art displayed above the model. Construction photos have shown continued roofing work on Moonglade, the resort’s lakefront restaurant.
A separate courtyard contains the quieter Cypress Point pool. The model depicts this smaller pool near the shoreline, with an oval basin beside it and landscaping between the pool deck and surrounding guest rooms. A hotel wing separates this area from the larger recreation courtyard.
Waterfront Lake Houses

The additional views show groups of A-frame Lake Houses along both ends of the resort’s waterfront.
On one side, the accommodations follow the shoreline near the main recreation area. On the other, a row of Lake Houses occupies a narrow, tree-lined stretch of land with water on either side. A winding path connects the individual buildings.
The model emphasizes how these accommodations sit apart from the larger lodge, with landscaping providing separation between neighboring Lake Houses. Their steep roofs match the distinctive A-frame silhouettes seen in concept art and our ongoing construction coverage.
A long pier also extends from the resort into Bay Lake, ending at a covered dock with two projecting boarding areas. The model provides a clear view of the dock’s position relative to the main lodge, waterfront paths, and smaller pool courtyard.
Sparrow Maquette and Animal Studies
Beside the resort model is a small sculpture labeled “Sparrow Maquette.” The bird has a bronze-colored finish, large expressive eyes, layered feather details, and an upright tail. It rests on a circular black base above a clear display stand.
A drawing displayed next to the sculpture shows a similarly stylized bird in flight, with its wings spread and beak open. Together, the drawing and maquette offer a look at an animal design in both two and three dimensions. The label does not identify where the sparrow will appear within the completed resort.
Nearby, two drawings feature what appears to be a young Bambi and a mature doe (possibly Bambi’s mother). The deer illustration includes construction lines and annotations examining the animal’s form, while the Bambi drawing features the young character looking back toward a blue butterfly on his back.
These pieces connect the resort’s wildlife imagery with the animation artwork behind its design. Bambi is also one of the films inspiring Lakeshore Lodge accommodations, including its Deluxe Studios and villas.
Inspirational Resort Room Artwork

An easel beside the display holds three pieces labeled “Inspirational Resort Room Artwork.”
One vertical image depicts blue, green, and pink bands of northern lights above a snowy mountain. A second shows a mountain stream cascading through a rocky landscape surrounded by autumn foliage.
The third painting depicts two bears standing on a ledge overlooking a broad mountain valley, with a winding river far below. The imagery connects with the Brother Bear inspiration announced for the waterfront Lake Houses.
The artwork illustrates the landscapes, colors, and natural features informing the resort’s room designs. Its mountain scenery and aurora imagery also complement the previously revealed Brother Bear Lake House interiors.

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is being developed along Bay Lake between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, on the former River Country site. The resort will feature 967 accommodations, including studios, suites, villas, and waterfront Lake Houses, with an opening scheduled for July 1, 2027.
The project was originally announced in 2018 as Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge before work stalled during the COVID-19 pandemic. Disney revived the development under the Lakeshore Lodge name in 2024. As construction continues, the resort’s long-standing emphasis on nature and Disney artistry is taking shape through its architecture, recreation spaces, accommodations, and decorative details.
